Standards, Achievements and their Assessment

Assessment, Pupil Progress and Attainment

Teacher assessment of a pupil’s educational development takes place daily, weekly and half-termly, and is used, alongside test results, to inform the planning of work and setting of individual, class and academy targets.

Information on a child’s development is communicated to parents in written form at the end of each academic year and parents’ consultation evenings are held twice a year (Autumn and Spring) to discuss a pupil’s progress and ways to help and support the child in meeting future targets.  Targets are shared with pupils and parents and used by all to challenge learning.

End of Key Stage Assessments are taken by children in Years 2 and 6.

Further detailed information is communicated to parents at appropriate times.
