Current Vacancies

The governors wish to appoint the following staff to start September 2020.


2 x Senior Teaching Assistants

Permanent positions

Required asap

NJC Scale 3, SCP 5-6


Post 1 - 28.75 hours per week, term time only

Monday – Friday 9.00am – 3.15pm


Post 2 – 20 hours per week, term time only

Monday – Friday 9.00am – 1.00pm


 Applications are invited from candidates who are able to demonstrate the following:

  • To be a creative and effective Teaching Assistant.
  • To be a team player and a positive thinker who can inspire children to learn and who believes that every child can succeed.
  • Successful experience in working in a school environment with children of primary school age.
  • Passion and initiative in the creation and delivery of stimulating learning opportunities.
  • Ability to relate well to children and other adults.
  • Ability to support and deliver learning which includes involvement in planning cycle, undertaking evaluation and cover supervision.
  • Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.
  • Ability to constantly improve own practice/knowledge through self-evaluation and learning from others.
  • Ability to use ICT effectively to support and deliver small group learning sessions and ability to use other technology equipment.
  • Working knowledge of national/foundation stage curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies.
  • Willingness to undertake First Aid Qualification.


It is essential that applicants should have NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with the opportunity to visit the academy at this time.  However, we are arranging Zoom meetings with the Principal on Wednesday 3 June 2020 at 10am or Thursday 4 June 2020 at 2pm for you to find out more about the academy and the posts. Please let us know your contact details and preferred time if you would like to join this meeting.

As part of the final selection process, you would usually be asked to deliver a short lesson, but this may not be possible on this occasion. We would advise you to make reference to or include recent lesson feedback in any documentation that you submit.
