Academy Lunches

The academy kitchen has been awarded the top Five Star Food Hygiene Award for compliance with food safety management, structure and hygiene.  All children are encouraged to stay for lunch as part of their social growth and development and meals meet or exceed National Nutritional Standards.  It is hoped that parents will also encourage their children to have a meal each day, cooked in the academy's own kitchens.  Children in reception class and Key Stage 1, currently receive a government subsidised meal for no parental cost. At the present time, a meal for a child in Key Stage 2 costs £2.30 and must be paid for via Parent Pay as we are a cash less school.

Children whose parents are in receipt of certain ‘support’ payments are eligible to receive free lunches. The relevant support payments are:

Income support (IS)

Income based Jobseekers Allowance (IBJSA)

Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

Child Tax Credit, but who parents who are not entitled to a Working Tax Credit and whose annual income (as assessed by The Inland Revenue) does not exceed the agreed limit

The guarantee element of State Pension Credit.

If you qualify under any of the above criteria, application should be made to the Benefits Assessment Unit at Calderdale Council, tel. 01422 393983.
