Academy Lunches

The academy lunches are provided by Kirklees Catering, but are cooked on site in our academy kitchen. The academy kitchen has been awarded the top Five Star Food Hygiene Award for compliance with food safety management, structure and hygiene.  All children are encouraged to stay for lunch as part of their social growth and development.  It is hoped that parents will also encourage their children to have a meal each day, cooked in the academy's own kitchens.  Children in reception class and Key Stage 1, currently receive a government subsidised meal for no parental cost. At the present time, a meal for a child in Key Stage 2 costs £2.53 and must be paid for via Parent Pay as we are a cash less school.

Children may be eligible for free school meals if their parents or carers receive any of the following benefits:

  • income support
  • income based Job Seeker’s Allowance
  • income based Employment and Support Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit with an annual income of less than £16,190
  • the guaranteed element of the State Pension Credit
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Universal Credit with an annual income of less than £7,400

More advice can be sought from the academy office.
